Powertec

Powertec is an American home and light-commercial strength brand: lever machines and multi-stations.

Bushings and cables are the wear on a lever machine. Record the station. A Powertec bench bought later is a second asset.

Parts to write on the job

• Cable

  Write which run you replaced, and whether the rest of the cable stayed. A visible fray is not the whole cable.

• Pulley

  Note the diameter and whether the bearing is in the pulley. A squeal can be the cable, not the wheel.

• Upholstery

  Photograph the pad and name the machine. Recovering ‘the blue one’ is how the wrong bench is sent out.

• Bushing

  Play in a pivot is a bushing or a bearing until you look. Write which pivot, and what you fitted.
